Home Buying Checklist: What Else Does 'Location' Mean?

This very good article comes from https://realtytimes.com/ by PJ Wade that really hits the whole checklist of the needs and wants you want to look at before buying a home. When I look at homes for home buyers and investors I always look at the location of the home. No matter where you buy homes, you need to look at the attractions and amenities in a location.

I want to go through a couple that I think are important.

" Walkability has many definitions which largely differ by walking purpose: destination-driven, exercising, socializing, exploring, enjoying the outdoors…. Measures of walkability can be useful and may add to market value, but these scores are not absolute, so investigate the reference source and measurement approach. Experiment by walking where you and family members would walk and when. There may be obstacles, like very busy streets, that would affect whether walking would be the best transportation choice."

Great thing to look at when buying a home, because if you ever sale it then there should be a lot of buyers begging for your home. It will also enhance your life and your families life. My dream was being able to walk to a Starbucks by my location......: ) Just sayin

"  Nearby Shopping used to be a big location factor, but online shopping has taken the shine off this convenience for many buyers. In some areas, malls are falling into disrepair and closing. Would that be a concern for you? In other locations, new large-scale commercial ventures are underway in or closer to residential areas. How would you feel about having a big box store on your doorstep"

Let's face it when you need milk you want a grocery store close by. When you need anything we want it close by our home. Some home owners do not want a ton of shopping near their home, but they would like it close by. People get excited when new stores open up in their neighborhood and they always try them out. You can also Gage the income in an area by the amenities.

For example what stores are there? Macy's, Dillards, Nordstrom's that will give you the indication on the income in that area. Grocery stores do too if you see Whole Foods, Heinens, AJ's you know again what income is in the area. These are just some examples.

A few reports came out recently that said Trader Joes, Dunkin Donuts, and Starbucks increased home values in their areas.  Wonder Why?

Overall look of an area helps your home value and experience. Need to know the best places to purchase a home? I'm Brett this is all I do call 216-703-5740 EXP Realty Ohio and 602-363-6551 EXP Realty Arizona
