Time to Redesign Today's Broken Real Estate Model

 

Gone are the old days of homes be sold one way (through real agents only), today there is a vast majority of homeowners and investors that see a lot more information on properties. They can see any home that is for sale in an instant from their cell phones and tablets. So what do they need a Realtor for? 

There are a ton of old Brokers and Realtors that live in the past and do not understand that information is crucial for a customer or client. I have redesigned my business around information and technology that assist my buyers and sellers with important information. 

Wasting time is a big issue for Realtors, they have so many meetings to make old ways broker feel good and basically take up a ton of time.

Redesigning the system to create videos on important issues such as new disclosures and or paperwork can save a Real Estate agent a lot of time. 

Realtors have to market and learn new ways to market almost on a daily basis. There are a lot of brokerages that are also doing that and are being successful. 

They are all missing one key ingredient that is crucial for realtors and their clients and that is information to help sell more homes. That is rarely even mentioned in broker meetings, instead fear of wrong paperwork is sometimes the only item mentioned. 

Sure paperwork is important to both do and disclose everything that is known on a property. The key to a brokerage though and BROKER is to assist the real estate agent helping them manage and understand the paperwork. 

Most Realtors fail within the first  two years of being an agent that says a lot about the industry and their brokerages. I remember talking to an agent that only received 30% of a $125,000 home sell.  She made under $1000 for doing that and had many weeks and hours of work.

So how to fix the issue? Making sure the BROKERS understand the cost associated with being a successful Real Estate Agent. They spend money on their license, marketing, Car, Gas, and much more. Realtors have to make the math work for their business. With so many hands in their cookie jar, Brokerages need to start adapting new faster and easier ways to assist real estate agents and save them money and time!
