Being a Realtor for the last 21 years I have seen things that were taught to me and others I never thought I would have to do. I am going to go over the different types of services I have done for my clients.
One example is videos I have been shooting videos for international and out of state investors so they could keep up with their properties. I have done literally 1000's of videos (8 this week) for out of town investors. I keep them on my channel and back them up in case they are ever needed for insurance or apprasials (before and After).
Just had a seller that had lost her husband and was selling their home. The home had been unkept and needed a lot of work. My buyers loved the home and decided to take on a big project. The buyer was a contractor and understood what he had to do and the expense.
We haggled back and forth on the price and finally came up with an agreed price after 3 days of trying to come to a price. The Sellers agent called me the next day and emailed me a letter that the seller decided not to sell her home.
I did not call my buyers that night because I knew the seller was very emotional and she did not have the money to rehab the property. I decided to call my clients the next morning. 30 minutes before I was going to call them the seller's agent called and the seller had reconsidered and wanted to move forward on the deal.
My buyers did not have to go through all the emotion of not getting the home and then getting it back. Being a Realtor for 21 years I understood that the seller was going through a lot of emotions and needed more time.
Another example; I was selling a home for an international seller and the deed was sent to their country to get notarized and it had to be overnighted back. The seller unfortunately filled out the wrong name on the package. Therefore that package was set at the carrier's office and the title company could not get it to close the property.
The seller called me and asked for my assistance. I went down to the carrier and worked for 1 1/2 hours to get them to give me the package. I had to call a supervisor and get the seller on the phone to finally get them to release the package so my seller could close their deal. It was not fun
So when you think you understand all the duties of a Realtor you might want to think again. A good agent goes beyond what they are paid to do to assist their clients in real estate.
